Floundering about

Post by mac47 »

Had a days floundering on a couple of East Lothian beaches yesterday with mixed results.
We thought it would be good with the easterly winds stirring up a surf and to a certain extent it was. My fishing buddy caught a treble shot soon after starting and I had a double shot. The problem was he had three plump flounders and I had two tiny coalies. This was the pattern for the rest of the day, I couldn't get away from the coalies X( . Over six hours of fishing I caught a few postage stamp flounders and one decent sized one, I lost count with the coalies.
We fished the last hour of the ebb and the whole of the flood using bluey and mackerel for bait.
Can't wait for the cod to move inshore as you can't catch pin coalies on 6/0 pennnel rigs. At least I hope not!!
Mac.
