Well haven't posted on here in ages so thought I would now! Thought we would try Brighton for the plaice! On Sunday we fished the east arm and after the easterly wind picking up for a good few hours and the sea turning the dreaded brown colour we made the move to the west arm for the remaining 2 hours of the tide! We went from flotation jackets on the east arm to t-shirts on the west, totally different! Anyway with high tide around 5pm the first bites came just as the tide was turning. My dad had 2, a 34cm and a 24cm, and I managed my first shore plaice at 34cm :D bait was frozen black lug!

Tried again on Tuesday however not much luck! Again fished the west and the weather was gorgeous! Bait this time was squid, fresh and frozen black lug and rag but the only plaice fell to my 11 year brother on his pier trip, a cracker at 37cm! Was surprised as was caught 4 hours before high water! Near high water he rockling appeared and that was!

It's definitely worth a go mick! However the arms can be a nightmare at weekends! Sometimes you are better on the beach! The Sunday we were there about 5 people out the 6 on the beach I saw had at least 12+ plaice each!
