Post by dannypanter »

Decided to head out at last minute as the wife wanted to watch crap on TV as per usual.
I headed to calshot as its a beach i rate highly and have not fished lately.
Rigs: Single up n over rig & 3 hook loop rig
Bait: Sandeel Mackeral Rag
HT: 15.24 LW 21.47
I fished from 2000hrs till midnight

Fish caught were 2 small thornbacks both between 4-6lb pout, poor cod, whitting a doggy and a plaice about the size of a post it note lol.

hi
never thought of calshot as being very productive but yet again you have come up with the goods, were you fishing the public part of the beach or activity centre part.

Calshot

Calshot can be a very productive beach at the right time of year and the right tides, it tends to fish better at low tide if you fish the right area! there are some prominent features around that make fishing good along with deep gullies, a good cast over 100yrds is generally required when fishing the smaller neap low tides. as flattiefanatic will tell you from some of my facebook pics :) ive had good fish there.
I will be going again next week weather pending !!

Danny is correct i have seen some stunning fish through his facebook i will try and outline some of his best catches.

1. 3oz pout was a lovely catch
2. 5oz whiting scale perfect too. I was impressed ;)
3. 6oz Dab, a lovely slab and a credit to his fishing skills :D

I could mention more but as he is such a skilled fisherman i will leave it too him :P
