New Moon Tonight

Post by Spikeyrich »

Hi fishmates,
thinking of dipping the lead down at Eastney or Stokes Bay tonight. But im sure ive read somewhere that im wasting my time with a big fat moon up there? Is that right? Dont know what the cloud cover is like tonight either. Looking to fish from about 6pm upto midnight. So.... Moon or no moon... Eastney or Stokes Bay?

I have never done well on a full moon. Especially bass fishing.

S'right, high full moon does seem to stop them coming in except for flatties who don't seem to be bothered but then you have to be using the right tactics to find flatties - small hooks, running legers and worm baits. Had a nice size sole at the last full moon just before midnight.
'course there is another problem at the moment: "When the wind's in the east the fish bite least........"
