Arrived at 20:00 to find lots of other fishermen feathering for mackerel so decided to have a go ourselves (Myself, Ed AKA Dingleberry and Stu)

Ed pulled in a few mackerel and a few scad in turn managing to cut his hand on one. As usual I had no such luck and had none (Never ever caught a mackerel so why ruin the moment now and catch one?)

As it started to get darker at around 21:00 we decided to set up the beach casters. My first was a size 3/0 baited with peeler. Within about 5 minutes of casting I bagged my largest smoothie yet. Estimated around 8-9lb by Ed.

She was so heavily pregnant that you could feel the pups inside. As I posed for the first photo a pup popped out!! Then as we quickly decided to release before her or the pups get hurt, a second one popped out! It was amazing! All pups safely returned with mother

This was only just after 21:00 and this is where all the fun ended. By 1AM we packed in as no other bites were being taken.

Baits for the day, Rag, Squid, Mackerel, sand eel and peelers.
