Anyone fishing the afternoon tide tomorrow ? ......... it's a big one !

Looking at taking a complete novice (as well as my regular "carping" buddy) and wondering whether to do Hamble or Hill Head.

Any thoughts ?

Regards,

Dave

Well we decided on Hamble in the end.

Ended up with 4 pups, 3 schoolies and a bream between us.

Cheers,

Dave

Definitely better than nothing! Blank avoided and a day fishing - can't be bad.

Took a complete novice with me (never fished before) and he ended up with a pup and schoolie ..... so that was good.

Cheers,

Dave

Speaking of the "Novice" (as he shall ever more be known) - he asked me to recommend a rod.

If you were jus starting out, using a fixed spool, would you go for one of the new 15 foot continental style beasties that are supposed to achieve good distances with a simple overhead thump ?

Cheers,

Dave

He's got enough money to go and buy himself a Daiwa Emblem or something ........ that an an Emcast Evo will only set him back a ton

.......... and if he doesn't like it he can give them to me !! :D

Cheers,

Dave

A long rod is usless unless you can put the power into it to compress it as I found to my cost.

I thought they were easier to bend Keith ........ all to do with this continental style of long rods & light lines !

Cheers,

Dave
