doesnt give the most complex forecast , but enough to know wether to venture out and go fishing or not

I would agree with that, i always use the met office and it is normally very good.

xc weather is pretty good , has windcharts and the weather , just hover over a region, easy to use

For all your local weather and tides I always use the BBC, costal, inshore, the lot...

i use metcheck.com as well. its also got a hobbies section which will give you an idea of the chances of catching taking into account the wind direction/speed cloud cover etc :D
