Enquiring about the spit at Milford...

Post by emenwhu »

Hi all,
Coming down to Milford-on-Sea for the weekend with the grand-daughters, was wondering if there were any mackeral being taken off the shingle spit there yet? Any other news on how it's fishing would also be appreciated.
Cheers, Mark

I asked about the shingle bank at Christchurch Angling and was told that there is a lot of weed about at the moment.

Well,
Fished the spit at milford, just over the rocks by the first bridge on Sturt Pond, lines in the water at around 5pm and what do you know, after casting the feathers for an hour got my first macky off the beach this year, about 3/4 lb so was quite happy. However, that was it to the feathers for the rest of the evening.
Also had a small bass and a 2 1/2 lb doggy ( i think!) it looked like a dog but the skin was not nearly as rough as those i have caught before, it also had a lot of white specks on it.
Used the rest of my bait up this morning and had another small (dog? same as before) 1lb..
Back home now so the jetty at Canvey beckons!!!!!!

Cheers Mark
