Its worth the effort just to see grans face, forget about he sport n the bait,, my old mum would have kille me if i hadn't brought home some macky for hern now I'm 'hooked' myself,

Decent size Mackerel on the right gear can be very good sport :)

Jim is correct about the weight and size of the maccy.
Four slammed into my line of 5 feathers and I had trouble getting em up onto the pier. :D
I just wonder how people you see using a line of 10 or 15 feathers would cope if they got hit with a big shoal. :((

went to the pier this afternoon for an hour and caught 3 mackerel and 3 small bass.
2 of the bass hit the feathers while the rod was proped up on the railings.
i was sheltering from the rain at the time. :D
