chesil beech

im off to weymouth in a week for 7 days hoping to fish chesil near portland. never fished here before so can anyone give me any tips for the area.

I went there last november, fished Abbotsbury end. All you have to do is park in the car park and walk up a wooden walkway straight to the beach. You can fish there or walk left (I think?) to some old tank traps (Big concrete things).

Its great fishing mate. Dont need to cast that far.

thanks for that, im there for a week.so ill mite give that a try, do you have any advice on baits.
im looking to fish more closer to portland have you fished that before.

i ve never fished there before but i used lug and squid. Try some feathers aswell or jus a whole squid on a 3/0 pennel mite have a big bass then

the bit next to Portland is Chesil Cove

can be productive and is a lot easier to walk to than other Chesil marks !
that shingle is a killer.

there is a free car park near the pub but at this time of year you should be able to find space on the lane up to the cove called Brandy Row

i am also doing chesil on 20th to 22nd by camper van! looking forward to it!!!! keep the tips coming as i have never been there before but have always fancied it! phil...
