nice on your first catch. i went about 6 times solo before i caught my first fish. well it was a whopper of a pout. i was well happy but had to contain myself as the bloke next to me looked like he atcually knew what he was doin.

i belive pout arent a highly prized catch but it mad me a haapy man!!

I know what you mean, i was the same went out a few times with nothing to show for it, then went to Avon beach one night and caught pout after pout. Iwill never forget that night the pesci little blighters. I even brought a couple home for the cats and they even turned their nose up them. I learned later that are quite good bass bait so next time i have a night like that some will be going in the freezer.

cheers for all your replys, my mate that goes with me couldn't make it on saturday so hes well pissed off, because he hasn't caught anything yet either.
where about is sandy point is that on hayling, i was to the left of the fun fair as you look out to sea down by the chippy, which went down well & rounded the evening off.
cheers
jim
