ive got a load of them you can have them i stopped using them as the line will some times go over the light wen casting and if you got a fish you could not reel in with the line stuck you can buy a tape its new and it lights up better then the lights you only need the slightest bit of light and they glow really good

rabbi2 - i have seen the type with bells on but i think they would do my head in, if you areable to remove the bells i would give that a try.
royboy - thanks for the offer if you wish to contact me i will arrange postage and tell memore about the tape.

the best tape on the uk market is mightybright you just stick it on the part length of the rod tip,
can also be used on tripods and boxes etc.
much better then rod lights as the tape will reflect from a head light or torch.

That's a good tip (if you pardon the pun!) I have always considered tip lights but I can imagine the line wrapping round it..
I think the tape (eventhough I have never come across it) is the way forward!!

I think sometimes rod tip lights are more trouble than they are worth.....
