Are you joking mate? They are nothing but a ruddy nuisance. But if you really want to catch the litte blighters just do a one up one down with semi-circle size 1 hooks.

just put some bait on a hook and throw it out usually does the trick.

catching fish is catching fish at the end of the day , doggies only become a pain when targeting a specific spcecies

Size 1 to 3/0 depending on bait. For Dog's I would use size 1/0 with green or red Ammo Sandeel. Cut the head and tail off and thread them up the hook and just over eye then bring the barb out of the side of the eel so it lies straight on your hook. Use a bit of elastic thread just above the hook eye to secure. Any bottom fishing rig will do and casting won't make a difference. I caught 5 Dog's yesterday fishing for Bass using Lug on a 3/0 in less than six foot of water 10 yards out.

best rig for the doggies there aint one mate i been out on a boat with huge hooks and caught them and been flounder bashing with small hooks and caught them they will eat anything , they turn up when you dont want them to, you know like if your going for the big fish and you made the bait look like a 3 course meal and a doggy takes it and other times your on your last cast with half of worm and yep a doggy takes it , they aint fussy about what rigs they just see food if there is bait hook and line YOUR BE FINE :D .
