can a penn affinity 8000 be used with a Daiwa supercast?

Post by jackdaniels » Mon May 25, 2015 11:07 am

I have a penn 525 mag 2 that I plan to use with my 13ft Daiwa supercast rough ground multiplier rod. I am curious if I can also use a penn affinity 8000 loaded with braid?

Iv heard that it is possible if you use braid? Is this true? And if not why does it not work?

Thanks

A rod rung for a fixed spool reel will be OK when used with a multiplier, but not the other way round as when the line comes off the fixed spool it could wrap around the bottom eye, resulting in a broken eye or at the very least a snap off.
