More expense

Post by Yakdiver » Thu May 07, 2015 7:08 pm

I was going out tonight to Stokes Bay (Hampshire), bought some frozen bait and checked my gear, oh no one of my fixed spool reels was locked solid they are Shakespeare Salt XDS and they have been rubbish I suppose you get what you pay for, I've had four of these reels and they have all gone the same way.
Now I don't go fishing as much as I like due to back problems, in March I had another operation on my spine, which has gone well so looking forwards to getting back into it again, but with the cost of new reels is it going to be worth it, decisions, decisions, well over a cup of tea the answer was yes so bit the bullet and bought two Penn Surfblaster 8000 so now I just have to wait until they come now.
What this space for my trip report........and hopefully not a blank.

For what it's worth Yakky, I have used Daiwa FS reels for the past 10 years with no probs. I do an occasional spot of dissembly and oiling of the line rollers but that's about it.
