That has always puzzled me too, an attitude that I've seen whipped up on a certain location we're not allowed to mention. It's a kind of anti-everything mode -- anti-Europe, anti-science, anti-AnglingTrust ... in fact anti-everything except the very source of the trouble, commercial exploitation. We must hope that govts enough sense (and power in the face of vested interests) to reverse the damage, but economic interests are now so powerful I worry that it won't happen.
