New old guy.

Post by Sandfly »

Greetings! I am a new member here, although not new to angling. I have fished for sea and coarse fish on and off since I was about 8 years old. That's well over 50 years ago.

Recently retired, I now have more time to devote to angling after a lay-off of quite a long time - several years, in fact.

Recently, my eldest son refused outright to use one of my forty-plus year-old beach rods as they looked (to him) to be too antiquated. I have therefore purchased some new gear, although I have doubts that the fish will notice any difference.

Things have changed quite a lot in both sea and coarse fishing since I was last involved and I'm finding this forum very useful in helping me to find my way around the new gadgets and terminology.

Hi, ans a warm welcome to the forums, Don't be anxious to get rid of your old gear as some of it can be of value. Bait presentation is the main factor, but you know this already and as you say even a handline can be of use at times lol. :D :D
Keep us posted on your progress with you catch reports.
Cheers
keith :D :D
