Uptide Rods

Post by rabbi2 »

I know a few members own them, problem is transporting them. Top section to long to go into the car without getting in the way of the handbrake or gear leaver, altenatively sticking in the passengers ear-ole, too flimsey to put on the roof rack (risk of breaking tip). :(( :(( :((

Top section too long to fit in the rod bag!! :(( :((

Any idea's lads? >:D< >:D<

If it complicated the please supply instructions!! :-O :-O
Cheers
keith :D :D

Place the butt end of the tip in front passenger foot well, lay tip section on outer side of seat facing rearwards and close passenger dorr carefuly. They even fit in a Mini this way.

If you want to be really clever. A section of plastic soil downpipe with one end sealed with a cap and the other end fitted with a screw top fitting fitted to the roof bars allows all rods no matter how fragile to be transported safely and allows full passenger space within the car. Used this system when we used to fish charter boats, it allowed 5 anglers to travel in a single car. Plumbers often use a similar system for carrying copper pipes.

put it on the roof with the butt facing forward(no sarky comments lol) therefore the tip will be protected unless u reverse at 70 mph lol.
