what effect does the heavy rain we're having in the northeast have on summuer fishing, makerel or otherwise?

The sea gets fuller :D

Where fresh water enters the sea a reduction and natural localised desalination can occour as the two waters 'mix'. In some outlets the waters can be layered, fresher to the top with saltier water in the lower levels. The closer you move to the source of the outlet the less salinity. Depending on the quantity of the fresh water some species of fish can move away from the area. The main effect might be that with silt being down washed, macky etc move out from shore. Though I am not a marine bioligist so take what I say with a pinch of salt :D

ok, makes sence..
would the extra debris etc washed down river bring food with it and pull more 'tolerant' species in to feed?
