Hi All,
This is my first post so please bear with me.
I am looking to buy a light surf/multi-purpose rod, I was looking at a carp rod or a bass rod especially the Daiwa Longbeam Bass but my last visit to my local tackle shop I saw the AA Estuary Rod.
So now to the advice part. Has any of you used either rod and how do you rate them?
Thanks in advance.
I need some advice please

Seancelt advice
Hi Sean, I'm sure people ain't being rude but your question only leaves two rods (of dozens) to comment on, and I guess not many folk have tried them, me included. I'd say carp rods I've used in sea fishing tend to curve all along their length in a parabola, whereas bass rods have more tip movement down to a straightish handle. The second was more pleasing, especially with the inevitable smaller fish, but I retain both anyway. Ask the shopkeeper to hold the tip firmly, whilst you hold the handle and progressively lean it upward- this displays the rod action to you without damaging it. Unless paying big money, a carp rod may have fittings designed only for freshwater. MK
