It would be a good thing for the Irish section as we get quite few lads on fishing holidays over here in Clare and tackle shops are few and far between and the ones there are wouldnt carry much of the stock available in the UK.

Best Bait/Tackle shop I can reccommend, is Gone Fishing, Canvey Island. Great bait every time i have been there, and good prices/deals on tackle.

I haven't seen anyone thats not for it but 18 votes from the members is a bit on the low side.
The poll is designed to run till Friday morning so hopefully more will vote one way or another.

I think Manics idea of the star ratings under three main headings would work well and be fairest in view of the observations about occasional supplies of less than top notch bait by some shops.I agree that it would not be right to give a poor overall rating based on that alone.

So will this be a sticky? only ask as I'd like to put forward a good tackle shop only not sure how it's to be decided and don't want to jump the gun.

It has now been made a sticky
Its primary function is to let others know where there are tackle shops that will give a fair deal.
It is not a forum to slag off other establishments and unless it is a recommendation then please don't post on it.
