what is a good recipie for cod and mackeral and serve it with what

cod and mackeral together?

keep it simple,grill mackeral (or bung it on the barby),or you can do a version of tuna pasta,grill macky then let it go cold,in the meantime cook up some pasta,try the shell shape one or penne,drain and let it go cold (drizzle some olive oil over it) tin of sweetcorn and some mayo,mix all together,shread macky mix in,you can add some basil leaves lots of black pepper,also some tomato flesh is good,remove pips you only want the flesh diced.

as for cod,mix some self raising flour with a little ice cold water until you get a batter that looks like double cream,season cod with a little salt n pepper,make sure cod fillet is dry (dab it with a tea-towel) dip it in batter and deep fry for no more than 3-4 minutes (depending on size of fillet),you will have very crispy batter,serve with homemade chips and mushy peas,yummy

Andy-do you ever use beer in your batter if so does it actually make any difference to the taste when cooked? Cheers, Mick :D
