Thanks very much for the offer Terry - whats the best way to get in touch and sorting out some coaching- where would you do the coaching? field or beach/location/ etc?

Hi, I am a total novice and if there is anyone who would like to help me to stop sticking hooks up my a**e I would most happily ply them with post de-hooking beer and chips, I'm in Cambridge but like all those ladies in the chat rooms "I'm willing to travel"

As you're going to the beach clean Mr abbot, just ask any of the more experienced guys and I'm sure that one of them will show you how to cast as badly as the rest of us!! :D :D

I'm just desperately trying not to be a humongous muppet at my first day out :-S. But then again muppets have to start somewhere. :D

Don't worry about it. I regularly make a muppet of myself! Just ask about rods as javelins and giving a reel a damn good kicking up the beach, crack offs, snags and whiting. Bloody, bloody whiting! :D :D

Seriously, they're all good blokes and will give you all the help you need. It'll be a good day and you will want to do it again-promise.

As a yorkshireman I'm always up for a freebie! Thanks for the replies, I'm looking forward to the clean-up and more so to the freezing my bits off all night catching anything except a cold and watching the whiting king in action :D

Thats it, you've done it now. It'll be whiting all bloody night! :D :D

If you are anywhere on our stretch of beach, bring a mug with you-the kettle is always on! :D

You'll know where I am from the cries of "DUCK!!!!!!!!!"

And after many hours of no sleep, it'll be followed by a chorus of "WHERE?" :D :D

LOL! I've been out today with the fishing book gaffer taped to a stick, gaffer taped to my head and am getting some very ugly 60-70 yd casts with a 4oz lead in a ball. I even got all but one in direction I was aiming :D
I've been dancing round a fire, making various incantations in the hope I can undo the whiting hex I accidently put on you last week
