Chinook - 21/8/11

Was out on the Chinook today (Phil White) and had a rather enjoyable day as usual! Fish caught today were Smoothounds, Skate, 1 Bass and Doggies. Plenty of everything about with a steady stream of fish all day. There were only 6 of us as this is all Phil is licensed for however this is perfect for a...

When i go, usually my dad, dad's mate and I, we park at the ship and lobster pub and walk along the wall then about another 10 minutes past the sand/concrete pier. Never that great last time all 3 of us blanked however 2 guys no less than 20 yards to our right had around 15 sole between them! Thats ...

I don't fish there very often however fishing is always tough when i do, it seems to be a venue where conditions HAVE to be perfect! I fish infront of the first lot of caravans just to the left of the sports play area (looking out to sea). Also between each groyne the beach is numbered in sections a...

channel diver 5/8/11

2nd trip in 2 days for me and this was a fathers day present for my dad. The plan was to go bass fishing, and with gorgeous weather and only 5 of us in total on the boat it seemed it would be a day good! To say the fishing was hard would be an understatement, this was one of the toughest days going....

Rob beat to me it! circle hooks are the best for bream (personal opinion). a lot more hook ups then aberdeens as you don't have the long shank plus the hook is almost guarenteed not to be swallowed! size 4 circles are probably the best (again personal opinion).

There are now 14 french trawlers heading back up to your part of England and they are not to far away, 1 is almost at bridlington furthest away is at lowestoft. just a warning if your planning to fish that coastline in the next couple days.

i totally agree with you, even just 1 english trawler in there waters they get all uptight. when ever i am out on the south coast without fail there are french trawlers on our side of the channel. I have just seen these trawlers on AIS, google it and the location of every ship in the world who has i...

personal opinion but i wouldn't, i tried it once for about 2 casts from the beach realised how bad it could end up so went back to a fix spool. i only use braid on a boat if im wrecking or fishing for bream. any other time, beach uptiding etc, i just use mono.
Hope this helps
