i understad why its better to fish in the dark, especially over high water, in that the fish come in to eed uder the cover o darkness as the think its safer. however, does the same thinking apply to to low light in general. my wondering is wether it would be any more benefit to go out in a dark, rai...
My theory was gona be that maybe the leader was too short and therefor still unde strain as the joining knot let the spool....clearly that idea is wrong..... can a leader be too long? anyone? i was using a huge leader when fishing of the rocks last weekend, but that just seeed to impact on my distan...
to be honest flattie are a doddle to prep... i'm still having probs filleting round fish.... but i keep trying, if i get it wrong or do a bad job, i just cook the whole lot (gutted) and eat it off the bone. doesnt look fantastically presented, but still tastes as good

i had a vey similar issue, and went for an okuma distance surf rather than the penn, (for a penn rod incidentally). i cant fault it afte many hrs of abuse its had no problems at all, and it looks good too
