welcome davey.... with regards to r&r you could have a word with terry in reelsport on dean rd..he has some decent gear (his own brand too) not sure what sort of price,... but he does stock the likes of shakespere too. or theres fishing republic in sunderland. if you want decent budget stuff yorsire...

why is it that when if bag up my fish in a cool bag with a freezer block and take them home, when i unpack , some have stiffened up (which i would have expected, but some are still very 'floppy'?

well that was a very unproductive afternoon. 40ish rods in total between 13:00 and 18:00 and only 1 makerel....... but i had a good bit play with my new rod and and reel, i like them, just need some fish on the end to test it proper.

planning a trip up to blyth tomorrow to try out my ew carp rod and reel.. is there anything happening in the docks or on the pier ??
any sugestions on fish to target?

i'm still a bit confused about rod ratings, especially as i'm now looking at and trying out new types of rod. A spinnning rod, bass rod is rated from g - to g a beach rod is rated from oz - to oz a boat rod is rated lb class a carp rod is rated by its test curve. what do these all refer to. the spin...
