well spikeyrich, i guess you can be comforted by the fact that not many maccy we're landed there today, at least not while i was there. only 2 that i saw and a pollock. however i did have a great bit earlier on, felt like another gar tbh but could have been a decent sized maccy, came off the hook be...

However, i am also interested in trying it as bait. I am fishing the low tide up at sandy point on sunday...

Yeah, i was wondering about that, we want to have a long session so if we were to move to Eastoke do you think we would be able to continue fishing without too much bother from the weed and tidal flow? Cheers for the advice also Eccles, i posted the same thing on WSF forum yesterday but didn't get a...

Sandy point sunday night

Hi guys, a couple of mates and i are going over to sandy point this sunday, low tide is at 1am ish and we intend to fish it up, so we'll get there for about midnight. We've never fished a low tide up before and this we'll be our first time at that venue. We're thinking of targeting smoothies and bas...

[quote="andy1_i"]is it worth trying to add say a half ounce drilled lead or something similiar ot the mainline just to give abit of an extra ooomph if the casting wieght of the rod is 3-5 or 2-3 ounce as some spinners and lures are light. Hm, i have only just started lure fishing properly, but when ...

Maggy Lane 02/05/10

We decided to hit Maggy Lane in the end, first time at this venue and it certainly provided some action for us after a dry spell. 3 of us fished 1 rod each from 9pm to around 6am, using 2 and 3 hook flappers and clipped rigs, size 1, 2 and 4 hooks and a mixture rag, lug and squid. All in all we land...

Well i tried it and i blanked, but i guess that doesn't mean much because the lug and squid didn't do anything either. So i guess i'll be trying it gain sometime as i have a couple in the freezer.

All in all a poor nights fishing, but a pleasant night to be out.

Ty for the feedback guys
