Is it me or is the South East Coast Forum really quiet?

Hi All, I know its very nearly Christmas and everyones attention turns to family and cooking the Turkey (or whatever you choose to eat) etc etc but I've noticed over the last month the Forum is really quiet. Lets hope the fishing and the forum picks up soon. I've heard Santa is bringing me a new rod...

I'd settle for a cod or codling at the moment - just want to catch something other than Whiting this winter!!!

I always thought the threshold was 5lb.

Thought I was the only one that found "Yting" to be annoying. I even find that when sending a text, I cannot use "text talk" - I prefer to use proper english. Though I am prone to the odd spelling or gramatical error.

Guess this qualifies me as a miserable old git !

Hi Dabhand & Clover Pirate,
Thanks for the info - such a shame it seems that it isn't going to be easy to fish - especially because its as a result of idiots.

The Pier adjacent to Staples, Chatham

Can anyone tell me if you are allowed to fish off the small pier that is adjacent to Staples in Chatham and if so, is it any good? Plus is the Staples car park open 24/7 to use? Only reason for asking is wife dragged me to Staples for some stationary on Saturday and I walked down the pier for the fi...

Hi Gary, Sounds like you had a bit of a mare... Still you didnt blank. Hope to catch up with you in the new year for some fishing. Can't see me getting out before Christmas - work and the wife has me running around like a headless chicken. Plus it seems to be all Whiting at the moment - hardly an in...

Fantastic fish and a catch i would love to have had, but I too think that such a fish deserves to go back in the water, rather than me being the one who ended its long life avoiding all the things trying to catch it / eat it etc etc. Still - Hats off to the guy who caught it and I hope he enjoys eat...

Nice one Gary, hope to get out in the next few weeks - if just to justify the money I've just spent at Veals & GAC.

Would say you had a cracking session.

Hi Gary,
Must admit, I've not got out recently and until the Whiting tail off - cant see me going. Fed up with the blinking things.
Glad you had something different though.

Have to agree - its nice to catch but when you are casting out and the rods pinging up and down before its even touched the rest with Whiting on the hook it can become a bit of a pain and you find yourself wishing for less fish but of better quality and species. Roll on the Cod.!!!

Rushenden Bay, Isle of Sheppey. Report Sunday 16th Oct

Decided to use up the remaining bait and fish local and light. I seem to be taking everything barr the kitchen sink, so threw together a small tackle box with the aim being to "Grab & Go". Well it worked a treat today - although I used a multiplier that I had bought 3 years ago but never used and th...
