Just had a look at the link and also wikipedia (tho I take wiki with a pinch of salt). Interesting read - such a waste to have it decaying away - what a great place to fish it would be. Wonder if anyone has actually fished it recently (even though we know it shouldn't be).

Thanks to every one for your kind comments. Not like me to get slushy but writing the post after getting back from seeing my Dad and picking up the tackle at the weekend, really seemed the right thing to do and helped me reconcile it all in my head.
Thanks again.

A really sad day...

As some of you may know from previous posts, I try to fish with my 75 year old dad as much as possible. From the lighthouse, how far is it to walk - Thinking of taking my elderly dad there for a session in a few weeks but he struggles to walk very far - can just about manage Hythe beach if thats an indicator but even that is a struggle.

Was thinking about going one night either Wednesday, Thursday or Friday - Barton Point (Isle of Sheppey) or maybe Deal. Depends on if I can get fresh Lug worm. (Too fat and lazy to dig myself)

Thats a new years resolution - lose weight. lol

Nice to get a report. I am sick of Whiting at the moment - hope for something different when I next go out.

Well done on the Doggies tho.

Merry Christmas to everyone here on the forum.

And whilst we enjoy the Christmas spirit, take a moment or two to think of those unwell, not as lucky as yourself and our forces overseas who carry out their duty without question and risk their lives daily.

All the best in 2012 to one and all.
