Hi Taff, How plans change! Went to the Tamar Friday night but found that every boat in the south west had decided to moor up by the bridges. That being unfishable we decided to go to Mount Batten. Went with a combination of light and heavy rods. Fished from 11.30pm till 6am. My son (aged 9) caught a...

Hi Taff, Am gonna try the Tamar Bridge tomorrow night for the 10.45 low tide. Was thinking of fishing the Plymouth side although if too busy will hop over to Saltash. Taking the wife and son and intend, weather permitting, to fish all the incoming and first couple of hours of outgoing. A reasonable ...

Hi Shooter, A lot depends on what sort of fishing you wish to do and what species you are targeting. From the rocks, Hopes Nose in Torquay is always a good bet. Dependent on which area you go to on the Nose depends on what you can catch. It is split into 3 main areas, Mackerel Point, where surprise ...

Unlucky Taff. Heard that Slapton has been trawled recently, along with Beesands and Whitsand Bay. X(

Thinking of fishing the Tamar by the bridge Friday night as I reckon the trawlers wont try up there! :>

Hi mate, I'm not far from you, Plymouth. And the fishing round here hasn't been too bad! Hope's Nose in Torquay has been producing Mackie by the bucket load. Restocked my freezer in one session. Whitsand Bay has produced some double figured Bass in the last month, mainly caught with live sand eels w...

Had my honeymoon there in King Arthurs Hotel on the headland and just thinking I could pop up there with the missus for memories sake. Of course I could also take the rods to give t...

Hi Taff, very close to the Point however when you go through Noss Mayo and get to the turn off for Stoke Point you will see a narrow lane in front of you. Take the lane and a few hundred yards there is a free public car park on the right. There is visitors parking further down but dependent on the t...

Hi Reddel. Sorry this is a bit late and I expect you have been and gone by now but thought I'd post in case others are coming down to the area. By far the best Tackle Shop in the area is Tom Worthy's Tackle and Bait Shop in the St Beaudeux area of Plymouth. All the frozen bait you would expect plus ...

Hi Coco and welcome to the forums. Ok, lets throw some marks at you! In the immediate area we have a few good places to fish, Mountbatten Breakwater is popular however, take a lot of leads as the bottom is very rocky. Bass, Mackie, Pollack and Wrasse are the most likely catches. Devils Point - a sui...
