Hi mate, not sure about mid cornwall but if you can get up as far as Plymouth then the local estuaries are pretty good. One of the best is the River Plym. Fishing along the Embankment Road area can produce some nice fish. If you get the chance to get there, make sure your your visit coincides with t...

My advice would be forget them both at the moment.

Apart from the weather forecast this weekend, both have been heavily netted and trawled recently. A few fish have been caught but to my knowledge nothing of any size.

You may be better going further east.

Tight lines either way.

Hi Curt, If you go through Noss Mayo, take the high road and keep going you come to a cross road with a road that looks like a farmers track. Down there is a parking area on the right and further down is a holiday home site. Walk down to the bottom of the road and you come to a church which has a wo...

Hi mate, fished abbotsbury last sat night, from 3.30pm till sunday about 2am. As far as I am aware no one caught a thing of any mention oh apart from my conger that weighed in at a massive 6oz yes you read that right 6oz. Weather was a nightmare, high winds, rain and a nice thunder storm to wrap it ...

Hi Taff, went to Beesands last year with 30mph SW winds. 15ft waves were crashing on the beach, casting impossible and a waste of petrol. Wife enjoyed the look on my face as I ran from a wave that bhad my name on it. I would personally take the advice given and leave it alone this weekend. Have alre...

I always take my rubbish home,, even been known to pick up other rubbish and put in carrier bag. ie discarded lines, etc.. but what gets me, is anglers who turn up with carrier bag full of cans, and just drop them on floor. and when there's one of me and group of them. puts me in awkward spot. mart...

Hi mate, dont worry about how much advice you ask for and how often on here! Everyone will help as much as they can. Ah, but I digress, back to the subject matter. The rocks by the breakwater will eat tackle if your not careful so use either a "rotton bottom" or a pulley Pennel set up would be my ad...

Well said mate. That said I think serious anglers take their rubbish with them, it is more the casual day anglers and trippers that leave their crap behind. I have heard a rumour, and I stress it is just a rumour, that Plymouth City Council have considered banning fishing from Mountbatten Breakwater...

25th - 26th Oct Seaton/Whitsand Bay/Jennicliffe

Hi all, would be nice to say all venues were great and that fish were caught everywhere but not so.... Having armed outselves with rag/squid/mackerl fillets/ sandeels and crab my wife and I decided to see what was out in the wet stuff. First venue was Seaton beach (25th) 3am - 9am incoming tide with...

Hi Mate, not sure about Cornwall however, just over the County line into Devon there are a few places that are considered Conger Hotspots. Devils point and Mountbatten Breakwater in plymouth regularly produce conger of various sizes as does Brixham Breakwater although that is further up the coast. I...

Fished the incoming tide this morning, from 2.45am till 9.30. Wifey had 2 rods out and I had 3. Greedy I know but no-one else was on the beach. We used rag, mackie, sandeel, crab and squid as bait and with a reasonable swell, cloudless night we thought it couldn't be long before we got something. We...

Hi Taff. Heard from local Bait shop that Slapton has been trawled recently and that one end has nets laid. :( If correct that will kill off Slapton for a while. Im trying Seaton, Cornwall this weekend and going to fish the tide in and out. Not sure what, if anything has been caught there recently bu...
