I was out near the lifebout slipway at appledore 2 weeks ago and we were catching codling and whiting there,

also heard a few whiting and pollock being caught in ilfracombe this week.

you must like ilfracombe m8 i can't tell you what is being fished there at the moment as i spend a lot of my time fishing in the taw estuary after flounder,

i did enjoy a good nights fishing at puttsbourgh beach in november although i did blank but others did catch ray,bass,and dogfish.

there are two types day session holdall holds upto 4 rods and the competition holdall holds upto 8 rods.

do you mean the rod holdall if so i bought the same one from amazon a few weeks ago but i have'nt used it yet but can hold upto 8 rods i i think but is well made,
and my other holdall is the salt it's blue with the zip up used this one all the time this year.

the salt tripods are very good a mate of mine has one and myself i have the mti tripod a bit heavier than the salt but built for the longer rods.

only problem with Okehampton it's a bit land locked you would have to travel quite some distance to get to the coast in any direction,
a bit more info where you want to go would help.

i can't tell you what is being caught at ilfracombe the last few weeks i have been too busy fishing bideford and barnstaple estuary,
and i'm out again on saturday in the estuary.

if i decide to travel lite i use the salt back pack instead of the beta box but on the sand i found the bag can get covered in sand but is ideal for rock fishing.

the bait i have been using are lug worm,rag worm and mackeral i do have some squid in the freezer for back up,

i'm hoping to go down ilfracombe again sometime last time i was down there i was on capstone rock using feathers for mackeral.

ilfracombe fishing fairly well at the moment with an assortment of species being caught,
dragonets,wrasse,pollack,plaice and a few other species off the pier also try captstone rock but be aware they are sometimes wet and you can slip on them.
