Well done! Considered fishing the Medway yesterday but ended up down the coast.
Great on the fish, I've never caught a sole here and the eels seem to be getting a bit rare now.

Samphire 26/6
Last minute trip to Samphire and didn't manage to get there as early as I liked only managing 11am, ( HT 1200 ). It was busy, expectations of mackeral, which didn't show up so it became less crowded as the afternoon went on. The shop guy didn't exactly inspire us as not much was being caught recentl...

Boat Trip From Medway 12/06
Managed to get a few friends together for a much needed boat fix. Left on "Lady Anne" from Rochester at 5am, skipper had decided to go for smooth hounds first and we arrived at a mark somewhere half way between Leysdown and the Essex coast by 7am. Wow! Kevin put us straight on the fish!!! I haven't ...

Samphire 5 June
Hi All Fished Samphire today, 2 til 7, HT 6-ish and it was mobbed to the point of uncomfortable. Seems like everyone wants mackeral fishing! Before it got overcrowded I managed a decent dogfish and pout at distance without too many snags. Only lost one rig and a hook today, which is good for Samphir...

Hi If you are now in Chatham Kent, so nearest venue the Medway I would consider fly fishing for mullet. I've seen people doing it, and there are big mullet in the medway. The medway can hold some good bass, I've had four 5lbers in last few years. I don't use spinners, but thats not to say you can't....

Samphire 22/5 Report
Hi All Fished Samphire today 2-7pm HT 7PM Plenty of people fishing but things were a bit slow for everyone. I managed a pollock and two dogfish. Dogfish were at a distance hence lost a couple of hooks and a whole rig, the pollock was caught straight down the wall. Mackeral came in at about 6.15 and ...

Hi I'm no expert on that area but as Macer says you will be close to Dungeness east of Camber. Between Camber and Dungeness is Dengemarsh which is a good spot as well, although giving directions is tricky so you'll have to google it. Dengemarsh is at the end of a long broken up road which takes some...

Hi Cabrat Samphire fishes all tide although the rocks expose at low tide on the west end of the wall. I'm sure you have heard of it's snaggy reputation which can be soul destroying sometimes. I have been and only lost a couple of bits but on a bad day you can be lucky to retrieve every other caste! ...

Shouldn't be a problem. I've always got mine from a bungalow on the dungeness road just past the RH&D railway crossing on the right. There is a blackboard with "bait" outside. Always been helpful. If not there are two tackle shops very close, one in Dungeness the other on the coast road towards Dymc...

Hi Good you had a go! Dungeness is tough if it's rough and you can't hold the bottom, I had the same problem last visit there and I've been fishing 5 years-ish. It's fairly quiet off the beaches in Jan and Feb so don't be too hard on yourself. If you just want to catch I'd try Hythe near the Imperia...

Hi Best to call in Mick's Tackle in Hythe, they will tell you the best spots. In my experience this time of year there is mostly whiting and dabs. You can pretty much catch them all along the beach. I've caught most dabs in front of the golf course on a rising tide but reckon you'll be ok anywhere. ...
