Hi I,ve never fished beyond Cuxton although I know Halling and Wouldham can fish ok for bass. The guy who owns the tackle shop on Medway City Estate knows that area quite well and would be worth a visit or have a look at an os map for possible locations. Sorry can't help you more but I tend to fish ...

Which Beach Shelter

Looking to buy a beach shelter before the Deal comp but not sure which one. Looked on the net and everyone seems to recommend the John Holden Beach Buddy. No shops here seem to have one so I can look before I buy. I've seen another one which looks like a big tripod and super quick to put up, but doe...

Deal 2 /10 Report

Actually.....not much to report really! Fished tide up 1.30 - 8.00, decided on trying the Sandown end of Deal as suggested in Channel Angling, Dover. Use blacks and squid and only managed two measley whiting all afternoon. Thought it might be better, good winds yesterday and lots of colour in the wa...

Hi I fish Samphire a fair bit, but more in the summer for bass. I read an artiicle in sea angler and they were catching codling there, but it involves casting out which can be a nuisance due to snags ( lots! ) . If you want a quieter beach try the Sandgate Castle area all the way along to the fishin...

Our third meeting with the Thames Boys and I DIDN'T blank, ok it was pretty small and the 11th hour, but phew...... another blank would have confined me to the dark side forever!!!! Big thank-you to Dave for making us feel so welcome and good to meet some new and old faces. We enjoyed the venue, it'...

The problem for me is that the net is so vaste now and the information is .....well you read what you want to see...... U tube has lots of good stuff and probabl...

Samphire 28/08 Late Report

Hi All Arrived later than planned due to hangover commitments, fished 1.30-7.00 pm. HT about 2pm. Reports were grim so optomism was low. I set up my usual "expect to lose it " rig and cast out and tried a bit of float fishing. Neither tactic succeeded. Big blank for me. Eva started with a 3 hook fla...

Berkely Fireline Crystal 20lb , superb! It is a bit pricey but I've had it on two spools for over a year and they are both still full, no problems. I use a tapered 15-70lb leader and the knot is tiny, and if I hit a snag the leader snaps before the line hence why my spools are still full. Nothing wo...

I think what you are referring to was the water outlet from Dungeness power station. As the power station is no longer in use I guess the outlet isn't pumping out warm water anymore. Still is a good venue all the same but worth checking wind speed and direction as holding the bottom can be tricky. I...

Hi
Not fished your way for a while so can't give exact advice, but I would suggest you go to "Mick's Tackle" in Hythe and seek advice there, they will suggest places to go and the bait to use and your first fish will not be far away!

Same as last two posts.
10x lead is the norm and I use tapered and wouldn't want to go back to those big knots again.

I use powerflex as well and sometimes bullet leaders on 20lb berkeley crystal braid and the knot is virtually non existent.

Hi Kev Hope it wasn't too far for a few wrasse. Fished samphire a few times this year and although lots of small stuff I've had nothing of any size. The bass haven't been there in any numbers which is unusual and disappointing. The mackeral haven't either in any numbers which is odd too. I went ther...
