I,ve used all the tackle shops on that street in Dover and just found Brazils gave the best service by a mile, just stuff like he remembers my name which makes it feel like you spending money there matters to them and they appreciate it. Sorry Tinny, I was kind of at the Deal meet however I went to ...

Beach Shelter Advice Taken!

Tried the shelter out last night, goes up in seconds, very sturdy. A lot roomie than I was expecting as well Good bit...

Hi Dave, Should have been 11! I arrived early, scanned Deal for any members amongst people fishing and decided to set up about 1/2 mile left of the pier. Packed up at 8 and drove up and down the beach and to Walmer side and couldnt find anyone. Got home and read the whole post to discover it was at ...

Charter Trip From Newhaven 24/10

Trip didn't start too well........... Rung the skipper Saturday for the weather check, was some concern about the wind and it was decided only an inshore trip was on, no wrecking :(( However the real bombshell was that the boat we had booked had been sold that week and we would have to be taken on a...

I've met a few people in to hunting. I guess it' more of a niche sport than sea fishing, but they all seem to have huge respect for the environment and the animals. I personally couldn't do it, I'm a towny and think meat comes in cellpohane and plastic trays. Like lots of people I have come distant ...

Sea Angler or TSF printed an article using that technique. A 1/0 baited hook with a second big hook, not a treble, on a 6 inch line attached to it. Of course it worked for them, it always does. I have tried it with no success, and to be honest I didn't feel that good about myself so doubt I would bo...

Would be good to see you down there Andy. The meets are for charity and are open to anyone. The Deal one is Oct 30th. I agree that Sue is missed. Hopefully she will get out again soon. I guess the post was just an attempt to get a few from the se down there. I know more people on the Thames side by ...

Thanks for your sympathy guys. Had heard there are congers there and it has gone through my mind. Still it's a lesson learnt, as fishing always is. Strange, you just want to get back and do it again, but know it wont happen again. Had a fairly indifferent summer fishing, heart not in it. Felt like I...

Rallying call for the Deal meet with the thames boys

Cant help noticing that the se forum has been pretty quiet. The Thames boys seem to have a good thing going over there, I'm thinking of defecting, but I'll always belong on the darkside............... so come on se, lets try to get to the Deal meet. After all it's our home turf. " never have so many...

Good report.
It's hard getting through the whiting, I never seem to manage it no matter how big the hooks and bait.

But where there's whiting soon there'll be cod!

Samphire 9/10 What a shocker!

Decided mid week with the weather looking good to have a shot for bass at Samphire today. All my decent bass there had come straight over the wall so I had given some thought to the rigs that would best suit. My first probelem of the day; no rag in Dover. All gone in 3 shops. Damn. I had two packs o...

Hi The wind, tide and conditions thing baffles me to be honest. For me working all week I just take the conditions as they are. I know everyone says easterly winds fish badly but if the winds are that way on the only day I can go fishing then I'll still go. I,ve been out to beaches after big SW wher...
