Hi
Give Mick's Tackle in Hythe a call, or drop in there for bait, they have always given me good advice, bait's cheap too!

Hi
Flattie was prob a flounder.
Saw your post just too late, could have suggested marks on the beach which do ok normally.
Still at least no blank and you had a good time, thats the main thing!

Samphire is soul destroying for sure. I like it in the summer, and had some decent fish, once you start casting it can get very miserable and expensive on the tackle. I usually drop over the wall, wait til the lead hits the bottom and reel up a bit. I use 30lb line straight through with week hook le...

Too early, water temps are slower picking up than air temps. Late may as others said, but try smoking something else u catch, why not, might be good!

Hi
Sorry can't help but I,ve always fancied fishing there but never tried it. Any ideas what u get there in the summer? Does it fish well?
I tend to spend my summer either local around The Medway or somewhere between Dover and Dungeness. Never try around Ramsgate for some reason!

Thanks Captain! Sounds like you have been fishing longer than me. I do OK generally but a bit envious of people who seem to know exactly where, what tide, what wind etc etc to target fish. I guess that is experience. I usually fish either on my own or with my very understanding partner, so most of w...

I camped there once, it is a lovely beach!!! I was put off by the tea shop guy telling me that no one ever really catches there due to the amount of fresh water that drains into the sea off the cliffs there. We all balnked which didn't help either. I hope you catch so I can justify going back as it ...

Ray Talk !!

There seems to be lots of posts about rays, like they turn up like mackeral in their hundreds, which they don't !!! If you persevere tide after tide you may get one, but in reality most of us won't!!! I'm going to give it a go, as I did last year and blanked, so don't imagine they are easy fish to c...

Start showing now, but more around in April. I had a few outings attempting to catch one last year but, alas, blanked! Everyone fishing the same tides as me blanked too so I think of it as an all or nothing venue which is ok if you don't mind not catching. Warden Bay seems to be a popular spot and e...

Hi As far as I know there is only really one main road into Dungeness, as you enter it you have to cross a railway crossing for the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway then not far past that on the right is a bungalow with a bait sign up, pull in the drive and they will sort you out. Happy Fishing Ma...
