Hi Baitman, we fished Culpepper. The whiting are as good as last year, just the codling........... not sure whats going on there. Not sure they'll even get up the Medway before they gorge themselves on the spratt! Have to wait and see I guess. Doesn't seem much better down the beaches so far but all...

Not surprised, they were pretty big rag!!! Will look that bait place up. Trouble with me is I rarely "plan" fishing, just go at the last minute so I have to use what I can get. If I'm heading out down the coast I'll let you know Steve and pick you up at Rochester or Chatham. Likewise Gary, I'll let ...

Allhallows 20/11 With "dontcatchmuch"

Met up with "dontcatchmuch" Steve fo a quick session on his "home from home" beach. Set up about 10ish, HT about 11,30. Got some last minute black lug and squid. Steve had some fantastic rag he bought online, will def give this bait shop a try. Used a two hook flapper and a pennel pulley, which I ha...

Hi Guys
I did think about coming over at the last minute but needed an earlier tide so went to Samphire.
I haven't fished over that way for some time so if you're out at the weekends it would be good to meet up.
Not a bad session all in all though, so well done!

Samphire 13/11

Managed a few hours, 2-5.30pm, HT approx 5 Three dogfish, one sizeable and a pouting. Used 6/0s to try to avoid the wrasse, with squid, lug and bluey baits. All the fish to squid. Lost only one rig, good for there. Very quiet, only one other guy fishing. Was hoping to stay on a bit as I was really e...

Hi Kinda know why no one replied, but I'll have a go at least. Sure, Folkestone is no better or worse place than any other to target cod, wouldn't be my first place for bass, but that's my opinion. Reality is that you will catch whiting, maybe dogfish and if you're lucky a codling. The fish just are...

Hi Haven't fished The Medway lately, this time last year into January the river was full of whiting. As Dabhand said, Laser Quay is a good choice. The other side at the new park bit off of Gas House Lane is good too. Tight Line sell frozen black lug on Medway City Estate and the whiting love it! In ...

shame we can't try before we buy!! I like shimano rods, just because I'm quite short and they are light and suit me! Bought a shakespeare K2 rod a few years back. thought the extra length = extra distance. How wrong I was. Its so long, if I put any oomph into the caste the rod takes me off my feet!!...

Hi Geoff, It has a section that unzips to extend it about another foot, the shelter's pretty long rolled up so it needed a long bag, again I thought the bag was pretty good for the price. It's not a massive diameter, 3 rods , shelter and rest is a squeeze but they do fit plus a section on the outsid...

there's other fish out there , it's just finding a way to get past the whiting and getting to them. Thats the challenge!
