Something different for me!

Day off today so decided to head south for a change as I haven't been doing too well in Kent recently. Wanted to add bream to my species list, read a post on the south forum from yesterday and decided on a beach near Portsmouth. Managed to catch two, not that big, but bream all the same. Mission acc...

Samphire 13/06

Good session. Fished 11-5, high tide about 3.30. I had 4 decent dogfish, 2lb bass, small pollock and wrasse. Eva had pollock, wrasse and pouting. All fish returned safely. Dogfish on squid, bass on bluey and the rest on rag. A few mackeral showed after high tide caught 5 which we're about to smoke! ...

Sounds pretty mad to me!
Shetlands aren't exactly sea going are they, of course it could be done, if you could guarantee the weather, but you can't. My advice is the same as everyone elses, for your own safety and consideration for those who would have to rescue you DON'T DO IT!!!

Samphire 30.5

Fished Samphire for a bit, 1.30 - 5.30. Penn Final Competition was there which meant half the wall was closed :-/ Plenty of small wrasse, reasonable pollack but not much else. Had a walk amongst the comp, not much more being taken there, saw some great casting, but have to say they weren't the most ...

Hi All,
I'm with air ambulance. RNLI is a great charity as well, I'm only going with the air ambulance as my local donates it's charity monies to the lifeboats so I like to share it around a bit!

But whatever the decision I'm happy!!

Regards

Can't say fairer than that!! Trouble is that was pretty much my experience starting fishing. I remember a local tackle shop selling me bait week after week knowing where I was going to fish, only for me to find out later there were no fish there! They must have known it, but happy to make a sale wha...

I remember an article a couple of years ago about it being down graded to a bridleway which would technically mean no vehicular access. They were urging the fishing community to prove it was still needed as roads which have virtually no traffic are deemed not worth the maintainance! Not that any mai...

Hi Went on it last Aug. Skipper is a good bloke and boat is very capable! My only complaint was there was no wc, which he advertises, and that made it hard for the three girls on the trip, bucket'n'chuckit ain't great for the lasses! We only did the offshore trip and the fishing was a bit disappoint...

HI My main way is to slide the float on my leader then a bullet weight two feet below, tie a swivel to the end of the leader then tie your hook length onto the swivel. You need to be able to fix the float so the line doesn't slide through it but do it in a way that you can adjust the position of the...

Keith again I agree! Met Jim for a drink last night after he had to sleep, sea air got to him, great thimg is that he is trying to analyse why Eva caught more than him, he thinks Eva was fishing over a gulley caused by a water outlet, I don't know about that but it's got him thinking, maybe the bug ...

Good point Keith Buy the magazines now they are June edition with reports from April, they should date the reports for reference later, Kent is well served by these two magazines and I've always meant to keep the reports for here but never got organised enough!!! Agree that the forum gives it as it ...
