Hi Mick , I didn,t realise how bad things were. I was widowed 18years ago and had a 20 month old daughter and farm to care for. I,m still here and as mad as ever, though very knackered in. There,s loads of legal ways to keep your head , financially, above water but no one seems to want to help widow...

Hiya where do you fish?
Is it clean ground, mixed, or rough ground?
do you want LHW or are you happy using your right hand to wind with as the majority of multipliers are RHW.

What are you fishing for and where? For UK plugging a short length of clear mono or flourocarbon(18-24in) is all you really need between your braid mainline and plug to stop fish seeing your braid and to act as a shock absorber, and to protect the braid from chaffing on the sea bed or the fishes tee...

They can work really well trolled in the way you have them set up especially if there are sandeels around. Also can work well from the shore set up weedless style and bounced around through kelp beds. Usually natural sandeel is the best colour but also black or brown plain or glitter head with red o...

A closed face reel like the old Abu 500 range or newer 700 range gives better control of the line loops when its leaving the spool when casting out. Stops the chance of the wind causing loops of line to blow around the open bale arm like it can on a conventional fixed spool which can lead to crackof...

I have tried both carp rods (prologic 12ft 2 1/2lb tc) and bass rods (penn powerstixpro bass) for spinning and found it more like a bad workout than pleasure fishing compared to a good spinning rod. prologic carp rod = 370g or penn bass rod = 435g + mitchel 5000 reel =480g Versus berkley series one ...

What are the casting weight ratings of the 9 and 7 ft rods you have and what is the test curve of the carp rod you are thinking of using? Lure rods are normally rated by casting weight in gms or oz,s or by line b.s. Are you going to use braid or mono as a lot of lure rods now are built on the basis ...

You can use any of the rods you have , but it won,t be an enjoyable experience as constantly casting and retrieving with pier rod or beachcasters is very tiring and can cause a lot of problems with your back and shoulders as I found out the hard way. You,d do better getting a 8-9ft rod rated to cast...

I use plugs 8-17cm and 9-42g. Ihad a 2lb pollack on a 17cm plug closely followed by a 1lb bass last year. the plug was half the length of the bass. I have had small schooly bass and pollack chase and hit plugs nearly as big as them, typical predator behavior. Where are you based and where do you go ...
