hi m8 and welcome to the forum. i dont know your area very well but im sure theres sum1 on here who can help you out with a bit of local knowledge. im no expert but as for line etc personally id fill your reel with 18-20lb line with a 60-80lb shockleader. preuming you will be fishing from beaches id...

i had a few very early in the season but they seem to have gone out too deep for us beach casters to reach.
all the charter boats in the area have been getting shedloads but they just seem to be too far to reach from the shore

ive had a few small school bass from a couple of different marks on the cleddau and wisemans bridge but nothing of a decent size. i know of a couple of bass to around 4-5lb coming from manorbier. im hoping to spend the day out there when the kids are back in school. if your ever in the pembroke area...

i baked them in foil with a bit of garlic, lemon and a few herbs.
very nice will definitely have them again :D
