u can use them for spinning with a simple cast and retrieve method (similar to feathering) but your just as well using the unscented eels (redgill etc).
but personally i would use fresh/frozen eels.

Rubberman thats a good point about water temp i wouldnt have thought of that. i think a good dry suit is top of my list of things to get (after a pfd).
hoping to get my yak nxt week. fingers crossed the weather stays good for a while

if you look on the NFSA Size Limits tab on the left it tells you in cms and inches
