Starting to look up - the notherlies are helping the weed situation and looks like some fish are showing too. Let's hope there are some for me and Adi on Sunday night...

Nice report - keep 'em coming!

Cheers

Shoreham report 8/10

Got down to Elmer around 4:30 to dig some nice lug and then headed off for Shoreham beach to fish the tide up (didn't fancy fighting the Hayling/Pagham crowds!). Fished a two-hook flapper stuffed with lug on one rod and a variety of squid, garfish strip and lug on a pulley rig on the other. Fishing ...

That's a shame! There were plenty of whiting (40 between 2 of us and a good size, too) at Norman's Bay on Saturday - we fished from about 2:30 to 7 and caught pretty much throughout the tide. Don't know why Hythe wouldn't produce as well.... Might give Dymchurch a go before too long - done well ther...

Norman's Bay Whiting Fest

Since returning from the IOW, I've found that my previous occasional forays to the coast no longer suffice - I need far more fishing action. So, following last Friday's abortive trip to Middleton, I wasn't going to miss out again this weekend - poo weather or not! Agreed with Adi that we'd wait a mo...

IOW tour 4/9 - 18/9

Right. I've not reported for a while - not because I haven't been fishing (quite the opposite!) - but because I've been staying in a caravan in St Helens on the IOW for 2 weeks with no internet access. Accordingly, as the fortnight was a fishing holiday, I have rather a lengthy report to post. I'll ...

Hi Mick I fished the Arun today, from about half tide up near the footbridge over the river in Littlehampton itself. Not a touch on crab (thought I would at least get an eel or a nice bass) and just a couple of schoolies on rag. Best option is probably to aim for Ford railway station near high tide....

Nice one Rob - those rays you are catching may only be small but they all count on the species list. Good to hear that Milford's fishing well! Good report and pics, as usual.

Shoreham revisited - 31/8

Well, after some coaxing by my brother Adi, I decided to give Shoreham another go today. Arrived (with my digging fork this time!) in time to dig a few lug, whites and maddies before netting some lovely prawns (plus mini rockling, pollack and wrasse). Started trotting a floatfished prawn (deep i.e. ...

Shoreham Species Hunt 25/8

After the disappointment at Deal, thought I'd get down to Shoreham and fish the tide up until the forecast heavy rain drove me off. Forgot to take my digging fork (doh!) so had to pop in at Lagoon Bait for some rag - I had some frozen sandeel anyway. Arrived at the western arm just in time to net a ...

Sounds like you had a good session! I'll be at Hayling soon for the codling run - heard a few whispers that they're coming up along the south coast now - and wouldn't mind smoothies, lsds and bream mixed in!

Deal 23/8

Thought I'd mark the start of my hols with a trip into the unknown. I've fished Dover a fair bit and gave Samphire Hoe a try earlier this summer, but thought I'd try Deal beach as it looked as though it would be comparatively sheltered from the SW blow. As I drove down into Dover to buy bait, I coul...
