East Preston beach (going towards Worthing from Littlehampton) can be good for flatties. Climping (going towards Bognor) is also good for bass and occasional stingers in the summer as well as odd flatties, rockling and dogfish at this time of year.

Cheers

Andy H Just along from Sovereign Harbour, past the Martello Tower in front of the new housing estate, by the last beach-side bungalow which is called "White Horses". You access it through the holiday park road (can't remember the name) but you need to park on the side of the road before the holiday ...

First trip of the year - White Horses, Pevensey

Well I finally got off my a*se and got down to the coast for my first dangle in 2 months. Picked up some bait at Anglers Den and headed off to White Horses to fish from low up. Started off at about 1:00 but, although it was a nice day (didn't put a jacket on for the first 3 hours despite the westerl...

I'll be giving Pevensey/Normans Bay a go tomorrow afternoon - often decent for dabs and flounders around now.

Cheers

Pevensey - actually more Norman's Bay - Dymchurch and Littlestone/Greatstone are all good.

There's an article by Alan Yates on the subject in this month's Sea Angler - you may find that helpful!

Well done Lee! New Year's resolution for me is to get over to TQ if it stays open as I never even saw a sole last year and the idea of livebaiting for bass is very appealing.... Hopefully get the chance to see you in action (probably around hound time, as I'm now totally hooked on them) and also det...

Good to hear that there are some nice sized whiting around - I'm thinking of a Dover trip myself before too long. Interesting that no-one was on the Addy, though - that's where I'd expect any cod/codling to come from this time of year (at least under normal circumstances!!).

Well done Danny - in these conditions a sequence of outings like that must have tested your resistance to the cold!

Looking forward to getting out myself over the next week or two! Work does seem to get in the way......

No herring shoals this year either? Used to be a good flounder spot too. Wish I knew what's happened to all the flatties (other than at Worthing) - getting to be rarer than hen's teeth!

Kudos for getting out in such cold weather and despite so many reports on fruitless sessions. I'm looking to get out between Xmas and New Year all being well (i.e. weather permitting).

Folkestone Pier might be a good bet. There are 25mph southerlies forecast this week so the beaches might be difficult but if you're fishing the pier you can cast out behind the breakers and give yourself a chance of a nice bass etc
