The choice of reels will depend on the price range youe looking at but for clean ground either the Abu 6500CT or Daiwa 7HT or for a bit more money the mag versions for both.
For rough ground Abu 7500CT or Daiwa SL20SH or SL30SH or Penn international 975 but these are more expensive.

Personally I will only refreeze black lug, and only then if I'm going to be using it for sole fishing.
Good bait is vital most of the time.

I use 3 general lengths - 14inches, 24 inches and 36 inches.
Because I got to different locations and also use short ones when the tide is ripping through and long ones when the tide is slack.

I'm sure if you put a reply up asking which spot was fished you will get a reply. It may well just be that because the locations are familiar to the person posting that they inadvertantly miss out the exact location. Anyone who wishes to know my locations need only ask and I will put them up for all...

Theres an entrance to the wall on Marsh Road South that anyone can use, but dont take an high top van because you wont get through the gate.
There is a gate further towards the sea that you cant get through unless you have a key but these are only given to the RNLI.

Yes, the cod can't find your bait if they are being chased by porpoises.
But I don't begrudge them a few fish, we only do it for fun but they need to catch them to survive.

I would go whenever the conditions were suitable and to different areas to vary the species. Going every day to the same place for the same fish would be too monotonous. After all variety is the spice of life. :D
