Not far from east halton Mick, just a bit nearer to Cleethorpes. Put Marsh road south into your sat nav, and the road to the wall is just before the first factory on the left, follow it to the wall turn left go down about 400 yards - Dont fish here on a big tide as the tide rip makes it dificult to ...

Welcome to the forum Roxburd, Nice report and catch, Strong on shore winds definitely help with bringing the cod into casting range.
Just a note of optimism, theres a lot of the winter left and a lot bigger cod still to be had, good luck next time out. :D

One tip though is to use big baits, try a pulley pennel rig with 2/0 + 3/0 hooks baited with lug/ blacklug and tipped off with prawn. Some very nice cod were caught last winter and through spr...

You've got nothing to apologise for Matt. We all saw the weather forecast and decided that it was worth the effort, even though we couldn't fish in those conditions, the trip was still worth it, imagine if we had all stayed at home and the weather had calmed down as predicted. I personally have neve...

I'm not having a go at anyone but, when your walking over broken ground and rocks at night would you rather have a dim headlight or a bright one? I know what my choice is. Also certain large rivers can and do carry a lot of debris and again its useful to be able to see some of this when fishing at n...

Yes it does, I usually prefer prawn and worms because the prawns have moved into the rivers at this time of year. :D
Next time you get a river codling or cod have a look at the stomach contents and you'll see what I mean. :D :D :D

Welcome to the forum Wheeltuner, for the Humber I use lug and blacklug tipped with prawn on a pulley pennel rig with 2/0 and 3/0 Sakuma manta hooks. How long I fish either side of high tide depends on the size of the tide, but usually 3 hours each side.
