Sandwich Bay 20/06/09

Hi All,

Fished Sandwich Bay yesterday evening from 6:30pm till 11pm.

Although the weather was great and there was practically no wind, the fishing was very slow.

Only had 2 doggies and 1 dab. Well at least I didn't blank!

I live in Bromley.

What part of London do you live in?

The nearest decent sea fishing tackle shop by me is Mark 2 Angling in Crayford (near Dartford).

There is also Anglersbase in Penge (South London) and they are not to bad on tackle but if you want live bait, forget it!

I have fished Sandwich Bay a lot lately.

It is plagued with dogfish that will eat any bait you present to them.

The smoothhounds and bass should be making an appearance any time now.

Tight lines!

Thanks for your thoughts guys!

I have already had 5 rays from the shore so far this year, so should not be greedy!

I am now targeting smoothounds and bass.

Can't wait until August. Off to the Key West in Florida to have a fight with a Marlin (Hopefully).

Hi all,

I notice that there has been a slow down in the number of Thornback catch reports.

What is happening?

Does anyone know whereabouts their still being caught?

Leysdown Warden Bay Sandwich Bay Deal Walmer Birchington Whitstable Might I suggest you try Warden Bay, Leysdown or Sandwich Bay in the first instance. I would use 3/0 pulley pennel rigs baited with either Blue...

Fishing Warden Bay - Thornbacks x2

Hi everyone, Fished Warden Bay early hours this morning and at around 6:30, just as the tide was turning, I had my first Thornback Ray of the year. The female was lovely, weighingi n dead on 9ibs and to top it all off, just as I was putting her back, my other other rod was banging away. This time a ...
