Well my son and I had our first attempt at shore fishing last night. We chose Bracklesham Bay as it was easy to park, and pretty much "snag free" for a couple of first timers. I picked up an old video from a car boot sale before we went beach casting for the first time. "Shore casting techniques presented by Allen Yates". That was pretty useful, being new to shore fishing. Shows how casting techniques have changed over the years. There's a copy of it on ebay at the moment...

I heard that S.Parade pier is shut due to storm damage so check before you go. Hayling is just starting to come alive but you will need to do evening/night fishing as the bream/mackerel have not arrived yet. Thanks for the feedback so far, it's all useful. I tried to find out more about the Pier being closed, just by searching the net, but haven't come up with any recent news.
