carb cleaner is ok but you will still be left with spots of varnish inside the carbs as it dont clean it 100% you need to strip the carbs and soak them in a special cleaner and rebuild using new jets etc i have done it a thousand times and it is easy as long as you have the manual to hand

i agree there rabbi but remember he is only staying in harbour areas so he doesnt need to really get up on the plane but if going further afield then i agree go bigger

if your only fishing the harbour areas then yes 15hp is more than enough,and not sticking up for fleabay but i have bought lots of outboards from there and if you check them properley then you will have no worries,just dont buy one that you cant view
