Another option to look at would be a Penn "Talon". Its a one piece clamp which tightens around the rod to hold the reel in place. Going to have a look for one myself, as the abu rod I have has the sliding reel seat. The thing with it is that it doesnt hold in place very well without tightening it up...

Well maybe the fact its a water repellent, perhaps it fizzes underwater, but never found out. Tried it once when i was a fair bit younger, spraying mackerel baits with it but to no avail.
The only addatives i would give a go would be thngs like mackeral oil or crab oil.

Best Bait/Tackle shop I can reccommend, is Gone Fishing, Canvey Island. Great bait every time i have been there, and good prices/deals on tackle.

I agree with the squid stuffing method myself, it works for me. Another i hear of, was to aquire some mussele, cockels etc, and bait u multiple hooks with these, one at a time. Then place these in a freezer and Take these to the beach in a flask. Fish using A single clipped Paternoster rig, with the...

Rubbish

Personally i take a single carrier bag, and then all my worm wrappings, squid boxes etc go in that and get put in the first bin i happen to come accross. Personally I think its terrible, and as said by Joliroger gives us all a bad name!!! Ok there might not be a dustbin on route back to your car, bu...

Just that my gf and me do have plans of goin and fishing overnighters and her car Peugeot 106 is a bit small to sleep in so that was where i got the idea of a tent from. What about the size of them, are they big enough for two people to get out of the...

Ive been looking for on myself. Not sure wether to go for a beach buddy type affair, or a tent, as would like to be able to go away for an overnighter and put my rods tackle etc inside, and to sit in if the weather turns foul, but also to be able to put up on hard ground, where i cant imagine a shel...

I used to go out boat fishing on the Thames quite often (a while ago) probably every other week, but I always used to use a penn535 at the time. Just havent ever tried using a small reel.
Although being as the abu is quite a small reel, then i might take one of my penn reels and use that : :D
