A rod rung for a fixed spool reel will be OK when used with a multiplier, but not the other way round as when the line comes off the fixed spool it could wrap around the bottom eye, resulting in a broken eye or at the very least a snap off.

Posibly folk don't like to admit to being disabled and try to compete with able bodied folk. The forum is handy for those who wish to fish easily acsessable marks and ask for other members advice. We did the south coast on Deal Pier, the Northeast Coast which was a disaster with folk starting before time and fishing the seaward side of spurn when the rules stated that it was to be held on...

Some pitting can be expected on such an old reel but look at the pics carefully and you should find one in reasonable condition

Can't blame them, the weather has been crap, not been out for a while myself but will soon remedy that bought a camper van for Scotland and trips to Wales, no more pitchng a flamming tent lol

I have used them, but found that they only predict what they term (favorable) times, in other words it may fish better before or just after the dates given, but there are so many variables like wind speed, direction etc etc that they cannot be used as a positive only as an prediction, Cheers keith :...
